For more than three decades, Carolina Herrera has embodied sophisticated elegance and modern refinement. With the support of Vogue's Diana Vreeland, Herrera presented her first ready-to-wear collection for women in 1981 at the Metropolitan Club in New York, quickly gaining recognition among luxury retailers and the fashion press.
Herrera opened his New York atelier shortly thereafter, assembling a team of Haute Couture experts and becoming synonymous with New York luxury. In 1987, he introduced his Bridal Collection, with notable clients such as Caroline Kennedy and Kristen Stewart. His designs graced the red carpet, being worn by stars such as Renée Zellweger, Salma Hayek and Taylor Swift.
In 1988, she launched her first fragrance, Carolina Herrera Eau de Parfum, followed by 13 more, created in collaboration with her daughter, Carolina Herrera de Baez. The brand expanded with boutiques on Madison Avenue in 2000 and the CH Carolina Herrera lifestyle line in 2001.
Herrera's collections stand out for their elegance, individuality and modernity. The House of Herrera, which offers fragrances, clothing, accessories and eyewear, is available in more than 15,000 points of sale in 105 countries. Recognized as the "First Lady of Fashion," Herrera has received numerous awards, including the CFDA's Best Women's Fashion Designer in 2004 and the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
